Bird is the Word - Part II - The Duck

Ducks are very skittish creatures. Even with a zoom lens it takes a while to get close enough to photograph them.

Capturing ducks in flight is 50% determination and 50% dumb luck.

Their babies are very tiny and follow their mother everywhere.

Bird is the Word - Part I - The Seagull

My next few posts are going to be about our feathered friends. Lets start with the seagull...or garbage gull. I see these guys everywhere and I never thought much of it until I got Shooty. They may be dirty scavengers, but when photographed they can be beautiful. It took me awhile to be able to capture them in flight. The key is to move with the bird. This usually means I'm standing in the middle of a field spinning in circles. Thankfully the results make the dizziness worth it!
